来美国求学的中国学生与其他亚裔学生一样,大多非常刻苦认真,周末往往会抽出一天时间去实验室加班,因此比起美国学生来,成果出得较多.

Chinese students in US schools mostly study as hard as other Asian students. They often spend one of weekends as extra study hours in lab, so they can produce more from study than US students.

我的导师是亚裔人,嗜好烟酒,脾气暴躁,但他十分欣赏亚裔学生的勤奋与扎实的基础知识,也特别了解亚裔学生的心理.

Many people feel the health of American children is in trouble. In fact, 40﹪ of children aged 5 to 8 may be unhealthy already. For example, many are overweight and have high blood pressure. Doctors believe that these conditions are the result of physical inactivity.


In many countries in the world, all school children have to do one hour of exercise every day. These exercises may be simple, such as running or jumping. Doctors believe that habits learned early are more likely to stay with us through life. School is the perfect place to learn these habits. Active, healthy children who exercise regularly can become active, healthy adults.

经过多年的多生孩子热后，大城市里的许多年轻夫妇对生孩子正逐渐失去兴趣。越来越多的新婚夫妇推迟生育孩子或决定不要孩子。根据最新的报道，1994年35岁以下的已婚女性平均生育子女还不到一个，而55岁以上的妇女则超过3个。

After years of passion for more children, many young couples in big cities are losing interests in having baby. More and more new couples won't consider having baby right away or decide not to have one. The latest reports show that in 1994 wives under 35 had only less than one child on average, while those over 55 had more than three children.
